Alternative Provision - Coming soon

Coming Soon to Bridgepoint

Bridgepoint Learning CIC is developing a new SEND-focused Alternative Provision (AP) in Poole, designed for children and young people who need a different approach to education.

Our Alternative Provision will provide a small, supportive and highly individualised learning environment for children who may struggle to access or engage with traditional educational settings.

A different way to learn

We believe education doesn't have to look the same for every child.

Bridgepoint AP will combine core learning with creative, practical and interest-led education, helping children rebuild confidence, engagement and positive relationships with learning.

Our developing curriculum will include:

  • Literacy, numeracy and functional learning
  • Art, design and creative projects
  • Practical and project-based learning
  • Digital skills
  • Life and independence skills
  • Communication and self-advocacy
  • Emotional literacy and regulation
  • Sensory-informed support
  • Preparation for adulthood and future pathways

Who will Bridgepoint AP support?

Our provision is being developed primarily for children and young people with SEND and additional barriers to accessing education, including autistic young people, ADHD, sensory and communication differences, SEMH needs, anxiety and emotionally based barriers to attendance.

We will also support children who have experienced prolonged absence from education or who need a gradual and carefully supported return to learning.

Every referral will be considered individually to ensure that Bridgepoint can safely and appropriately meet the child's needs.

Small by design

Bridgepoint AP is being designed around very small groups and personalised programmes, rather than a traditional classroom model.

Each placement will have clear educational goals and an individual programme based around the young person's needs, strengths, interests and intended outcomes.

Our approach is:

Small. Safe. Individualised. Creative. SEND-informed.

Working with schools and local authorities

Bridgepoint is developing its Alternative Provision for commissioned placements from schools, academy trusts and local authorities.

Our safeguarding, curriculum, referral, assessment, progress-monitoring and quality-assurance frameworks are currently being developed in preparation for launch.

Bridgepoint Alternative Provision is not yet accepting commissioned AP placements.

Referrals & professional enquiries

We are currently welcoming early enquiries from schools, local authorities and professionals interested in discussing future placements or partnership working.

Parents and carers are also welcome to contact us to learn more about the provision as it develops.
